Ivan A. Sarkissian, Shareholder and Co-founder of McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C., was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1997 and is admitted to practice in all Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Sarkissian received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1993 and attended the Tulane University School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, in 1997. While in law school, Mr. Sarkissian was an associate editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Mr. Sarkissian is a trial attorney whose practice is focused on the defense of business entities and individuals in a wide array of cases including construction defect claims on behalf of developers, general contractors and subcontractors, mold claims, oil and gas, environmental claims, product liability defense, wrongful death and personal injury claims, as well as litigating insurance coverage issues and “bad faith” claims. Mr. Sarkissian has participated in more than a dozen jury and bench trials and has obtained successful results. As lead counsel, Mr. Sarkissian has been instrumental in early disposition of cases through motions and effective settlement negotiations, saving clients significant legal expenses. Mr. Sarkissian is the author of several articles and has given seminars on construction defect and mold litigation. He was selected for inclusion in the Colorado Super Lawyers list for Rising Stars 2009-2011 and Super Lawyers 2012-2015. In 2013, Mr. Sarkissian received Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Rating for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability. Mr. Sarkissian is a member of the Denver, Arapahoe, and Colorado Bar Associations, the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA), the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute, and the American Bar Association.
