Mr. Laman has been practicing law for almost 20 years, in both Colorado and Illinois, focusing on commercial litigation and representing various parties in personal injury matters. His vast experience with all aspects of both litigation and business management allows him to identify risks and minimize exposure to all of his clients. His insights, experiences and skills also provide his clients with proven ability to argue their case in court, in front of a mediator, or simply advise on how to negotiate with an opposing party. He recognizes that people and businesses often find themselves in disputes that are both expensive and unpredictable simply because they got into a situation without a written agreement, or because they used a standard form agreement that was unclear or inadequate. Effectively communicating with his clients allows Steve to tailor agreements to the individual needs of his clients.
Equine Law is a passion for Steve. As a horseman himself, he is aware of the challenges that equine professionals and horse owners may face. When legal issues arise involving your horse or equine-related business, it is imperative that you receive competent legal advice as soon as possible. The legal issues can range from drafting equine-related contracts or agreements to liability for accidents involving your horse or you as a rider. Steve’s knowledge of these areas of law provides his clients with excellent legal services and expert advice. His membership in several Colorado equine organizations exposes him to critical issues facing equine professionals in Colorado. Additionally, his recent appointment to the Colorado Horse Development Authority Board of Directors allows him the opportunity to address issues facing the equine industry here in Colorado.
As a long time Colorado resident, Steve is an avid horseman and spends his free time with his wife, boys, horses and dog on their small ranch in Parker, Colorado.
