Elizabeth C. LaVance is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Louisiana. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, magna cum laude. Ms. LaVance attended Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she received her Juris Doctor (J.D.). Ms. LaVance’s experience in the judicial system began during law school, where she interned for the Hon. Joseph C. Wilkinson, Jr., Magistrate Judge, and the Hon. Jay C. Zainey, District Judge, of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, as well as the Hon. Roland L. Belsome, Appellate Judge, of the Louisiana Court of Appeal for the Fourth Circuit. Prior to joining McConaughy & Sarkissian, Ms. LaVance worked as an Associate Attorney at a litigation firm in New Orleans followed by clerkship for the Hon. Michael C. Dunston, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I, where she drafted complex memorandum opinions on behalf of Judge Dunston on matters of first impression in the Virgin Islands. Ms. Lavance’s practice is focused on the representation of business entities and individuals in cases involving construction defect claims on behalf of developers, general contractors and subcontractors, general liability, products liability and personal injury.
In her free time, Ms. LaVance enjoys cooking, interior design, and spending time with her family.
